The Specialist, receiving an updated design for 2020, showcases a newly styled light rail frame reminiscent of the Kodiak, along with forward cocking serrations and Dan Wesson inset slide serrations that minimize glare between the sights. The stainless steel slide incorporates a 1913-style rail for the attachment of lights and lasers, while the undercut trigger guard and 25 LPI frontstrap checkering enhance grip stability.

The controls are designed for ease of use, featuring an ambidextrous thumb safety, an extended magazine release, and a magwell that allows for rapid reloads. Complemented by G-10 grips that direct the hand into the extended beavertail, the Specialist is equipped with tritium sights at both the front and rear, with the rear sight designed in a stacked dot configuration.
